I have many beautiful memories of my time at Campus School (K through 5th grade,) but what stands out is my time spent in David Hodge's (Mr. Hodge, as he's affectionately known) art classroom. He provided a magical artistic learning environment that encouraged experimentation and creative expression. I now do my best to follow in David's footsteps in my studio classroom at the University of Maryland, where I teach painting and drawing. The artwork I selected for this exhibition reflects my ongoing interest in working with mixed media, constructing and deconstructing imagery based on social commentary.
