I consider David a wonderful mentor as well as a friend. I first met David when I took an elementary methods class at UW-Oshkosh in my journey to become an art teacher. His lessons and encouragement allowed me to get a good foothold in my occupation as a K-12 Art Educator. He made learning fun and I wanted to convey that to my students. David was also my advisor and gave me good advice with class selection and, in general, to give me a clear focus on student teaching. Throughout my teaching career, I saw David many times as he came in to supervise the student teachers I had through UW-Oshkosh. He was always so kindhearted and I consider him a true gentleman with a wide berth of knowledge. My life would have been so different without David in it and I sincerely thank him for that. Even though I have retired from my career as an elementary art teacher, I still keep active teaching art classes for various groups using many of the methods and techniques instilled in me by him.
